Indian Valley’s mill has new retail hours

The J&C Enterprises sawmill, which recently opened in Crescent Mills, is now open to the public with more extended retail hours.

The mill is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. for retail sales.

The lumber comes in 8-foot or 16-foot lengths. Currently the mill has cedar and pine lumber in stock. Prices for the pine lumber ranges from $1 to $1.70 per board foot; prices for cedar range from $1.50 to $2.20 per board foot. Prices are subject to change.

J&C Lumber also saws custom orders and dimensions (in lengths of 8-foot or 16-foot). To place an order, get a quote or check availability, community members are asked to call the sales line at (530) 375-7068, email [email protected], or come by the mill, (located across the tracks, behind Gigi’s Market in Crescent Mills).

Currently all sales are either by cash or check. Credit card transactions are coming soon but are not up and running yet.

The mill’s mission is two-fold: to utilize the trees which burned in the Dixie Fire and would otherwise have been chipped or left to rot, and to use logs from those trees to provide reasonably priced lumber to community members as they rebuild.

J & C Enterprises thanks the public for their support and hopes to see the community build great things with their lumber.
