It’s no trick: Quincy Chamber announces the annual Halloween event is canceled

The Quincy Chamber of Commerce announced today that “due to an abundance of caution with COVID-19 and in order to comply with guidelines issued by the State of California and Plumas County Public Health, Safe Trick-or-Treat has been canceled this year.”

The annual event traditionally filled Main Street in downtown Quincy as youngsters went from business to business and to the steps of the county courthouse collecting treats. But as with all other major events from Fourth of July fireworks to the annual Plumas-Sierra County Fair, Halloween has fallen victim to the coronavirus — at least when it comes to the Safe Trick-or-Treat event.
