Jack-knifed big rigs and vehicles snarl Highway 32

According to the Susanville area office of the California Highway Patrol, due to icy roads and snowfall, there are approximately 20+ vehicles and 2 jack-knifed big rigs stuck on Highway 32 between Butte Meadows and Hwy 36. CHP advises motorists to use alternative routes; current traffic delays are at 4-plus hours.

Unfortunately there aren’t a lot of alternatives – Highway 70 is closed through the Feather River Canyon due to the slide at the Plumas/Butte County line and the Oroville-Quincy Highway is now closed due to snow.
