Jan. 31: PUSD reports 23 new cases

Continuing last week’s increase in COVID cases, Plumas Unified School District reported 23 new cases today, Jan. 31. Whereas Quincy schools had been leading the case rates, today’s cases were focused in Chester and Portola.

The new cases reported today are broken down as follows:

  • Chester Elementary School – 4 cases
  • Chester High School – 5 cases
  • Greenville Elementary School -1 case
  • Quincy Elementary School Alder campus – 4 cases
  • C. Roy Carmichael Elementary in Portola – 4 cases
  • Portola High School – 5 cases

The Plumas County Public Health Agency is conducting the contact tracing and investigation in conjunction with district nursing staff.  Impacted staff will be contacted by Public Health or by PUSD.
