July 15: Plumas Public Health announces 4 new cases

The Plumas County Public Health Agency announced this evening, July 15, that there are four new cases to report. The health agency is posting positive test results twice a week — on Mondays and Thursdays. Last Thursday, July 8, Public Health reported nine cases, but on Monday, July 12, no new cases were reported.

Plumas County does not test for the delta variant. If an individual tests positive, a second swab can be taken and it is sent away for further testing. Because of a backlog, it can take two to three weeks to receive definitive results. Public Health has said that contact tracing has indicated that the delta variant is in Plumas County, just as it is throughout the state and nation.

The cases reported today are as follows:

One case for the Western Region (Chester/Lake Almanor): Confirmed on July 14

One case for the Southern Region (Quincy/Meadow Valley): Confirmed on July 13

Two cases for the Eastern Region (Portola/Graeagle): Both confirmed on July 13

The total confirmed number of coronavirus cases in the county to date is 759. There are six active cases — three in the Southern Region; two in the Eastern Region and one in the Western Region.
