July 26: Plumas Public Health announces 2 COVID cases

The Plumas County Public Health Agency announced this evening, July 26, that there are two new cases to report. The health agency is posting positive test results twice a week — on Mondays and Thursdays. On Thursday, July 22, two cases were reported as well.

Plumas County does not test for the delta variant. If an individual tests positive, a second swab can be taken and it is sent away for further testing. Because of a backlog, it can take two to three weeks to receive definitive results. Public Health has said that contact tracing has indicated that the delta variant is in Plumas County, just as it is throughout the state and nation.

The cases reported today are as follows:

One case for the Southern Region (Quincy/Meadow Valley): Confirmed on July 26

One case for the Norther Region (Greenville/Indian Valley): Confirmed on July 26

The total confirmed number of coronavirus cases in the county to date is 765.
