Karen Lee Miller (DeMars)
Karen Lee Miller (DeMars) went to be with Jesus on March 19, 2022 at her home in San Tan Valley, Arizona, at the age of 83 after a short, but aggressive battle with cancer. During her last days, she was surrounded by and prayed over by friends and family.
Karen was born to John and Annabelle Nicolls on January 20, 1939, in Des Moines, Iowa. Her family moved to Castro Valley, California in 1946 and then to Fremont, California in 1955.
Karen lived and raised her family in Quincy, CA from 1971-1989 and to this day still calls Quincy “home”. Although she took pride in being a stay-at-home mom, once the kids got older, she worked as an administrative assistant for Jim Stockton State Farm agency and Dr. Gilman Optometry in Quincy, CA as well as Dr. Dipietro Optometry in Paradise, CA. She was a wonderful administrative assistant and was loved by her employers.
Karen met her husband, John “Jack” Miller in 1987 in Quincy, California. They got married two years later November 4, 1989. Shortly after marriage, they moved to Paradise, California. Once retired, they enjoyed traveling the country in their 5th wheel RV and then finally settled in San Tan Valley, Arizona. They celebrated 33 years of marriage.
In addition to being a dedicated and loving mother, Karen also loved being involved in her kid’s school activities and held the titles of PTA President, 4-H Horse Mastership President, and room mom coordinator. Karen also loved being involved in her community. She was active in Beta Sigma Phi sorority, the women’s Elks Club and led the March of Dimes Walkathon. Throughout her entire life, she held an unwavering love for community, family and was loved by all.
Karen joins her parents, John and Annabelle in Heaven. She is survived by her husband, Jack, her sister, Karlene Berry, her brother, Ken Nicolls, her daughter, Kelly Morlan (Troy), her son, Cary DeMars, stepchildren, Kyle Miller (Debbie), Jeff Miller (Wendy), Mitzi Butler (Marcus), Brett Miller (Cyndee), grandchildren, Kendra Young (Grayson), Kelsey Berry (Braxton), Kaley DeMars, step grandchildren, JT Miller (Jessica), Chelsea Johns, Sonya Chapman (Winston), Garrett Miller (Grace), Addison Miller, Ryan Miller, Ethan Miller, Zach Butler (Kourtney), Marcus Butler (Traci), Levi Butler (Lisa), Jackie Lackey (Jesse), Macy Stanley (Chad), Jonathan Miller, Jennifer Miller, Alexandria Miller, Bryant Miller, Rynn Miller, great grandchildren, Kason Young, Kampbell Young and 32 step great grandchildren.
