LaMalfa announces $1.35 million for PSREC

Congressman Doug LaMalfa announced today, March 17, that he obtained a $1,353,176.61 Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) grant for Plumas-Sierra Rural Electric Cooperative to cover costs incurred as a result of the 2021 Dixie Fire. This funding covers 90 percent of the total project’s cost in backpay from restoring the Plumas-Sierra Rural Electric Cooperative’s facility and operations back to its pre-disaster design.

“Plumas-Sierra Rural Electric Cooperative, like many throughout the North State, is still trying to rebuild following the destruction of the 2021 Dixie Fire. Since the fire first broke out, I have worked to ensure affected residents and local businesses had the federal assistance they needed to rebuild,” LaMalfa said. “Although I no longer represent Plumas or Sierra county in Congress, I am pleased that after a year and a half, this funding has finally come through.”
