These “Pink Ladies” from the Seneca Hospital Auxiliary are ready to serve the waiting crowd at the Feb. 13 Valentine’s Day community supper. It seems only fitting that a third-century Roman saint, St. Valentino, would be celebrated with a traditional Italian dinner of lasagna, garlic bread, mixed vegetables and green salad with Italian dressing. From left are: Nancy Foote, Maggie Fleming, Toddy Cutler and Jane Hilliard. Don’t forget the next two suppers will be held Thursday, March 12, and Thursday, March 26. Photos by Gregg Scott
The Chester Community Supper is continuing to be a true community gathering destination as the number of Lake Almanor residents attending continues to remain in the high 90s to low 100s range. It’s really no wonder though, with the marvelous meals that are being served by many different groups that have been sponsoring the twice-monthly meals. Here is the beginning of the line Feb. 13, and within 15 to 20 minutes over 100 people were happily consuming and conversating.
