Last Supper?

It is going to be a while before local residents see a group of smiling faces like these waiting to serve some delicious food at a Community Supper in Chester. Volunteers from Holiday Market serve a St. Patrick’s Day-themed supper March 12 at the Veterans Memorial Hall. “And a fine meal is was, too,” with traditional corned beef, cabbage, potatoes, carrots and cornbread. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 concerns, and the fact that most of the suppers have had over 100 attendees, the remaining scheduled dinners have been canceled. The Almanor Basin Food Bank hopes to resume the tradition in November just before Thanksgiving. Thanks for all the organizations that sponsored suppers to date. Photo by Gregg Scott
