Learn about biochar
Want to learn how to make an inexpensive oven to turn your land waste into healthy soil? Biochar is the solid, carbon-rich material obtained by pyrolysis using different biomasses.
Dr. Hugh McLaughlin of NEXTCHAR will provide a free in-depth demonstration on how to build a homemade oven and apply biochar to compost/garden beds. The event is sponsored by Biomass Biochar Cooperative, Inc. and NEXTCHAR.
The workshop takes place Saturday, Feb. 29, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at 2651 Riverdance Road in Quincy, off of Buck’s Lake Road.
