Life Tributes for the week of 2/19/20

Mary Alberta Driscoll

Mary Alberta Driscoll went to her eternal home on Jan. 30, 2020, at the age of 92.

Born in San Francisco on Aug. 24, 1927, to Batholomew and Maria Mondino, Mary was the oldest of nine children, whom she helped raise.

Mary was in the USMC. In August of 1950 she married Gilbert Driscoll and that union resulted in two sons, Gilbert Jr. and Don. Gilbert Sr. passed in March of 1991 and then Mary cared for her ailing uncle until his passing.

With her spare time she did a lot of gardening and joined the Lady Elks in SSF. She loved gardening, playing cards and bowling. She bowled until she was 89.

Mary resided in the San Francisco Bay Area until 2005, when she moved to Plumas County. Mary was a feisty, strong, caring and independent lady who loved to talk to everyone and learn about them.  Sitting outside on her porch and listening to the rain fall was one of her greatest pleasures, because it watered her garden.

She is survived by her brothers, Jack and John and a sister, Linda. She is also survived by her sons, Gilbert (Diane) and Don (Dee Dee) Driscoll and her grandchildren, Scott (Mitzie), Christopher (Lindsay) and Stephanie (Andrew) and two great-grandkids Cooper and Kade. She will be missed by all who knew her.

In honor of her memory plant a flower or tree or give a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association.
