Living with loss – Grief Support group can help

“The chance to tell my own story again and again and be heard, as well as listen to others’ stories, helped me in finding a way to live with my grief and regain a sense of belonging and community,” remarked a participant in a Plumas Grief Support group.

Are you grieving the loss of an important person in your life? Struggling to find a way to cope and continue your life with meaning and purpose? Plumas Grief Support understands and invites you to join with others in a support group for adults grieving the loss of a loved one.

Beginning Monday, March 7, the group will meet weekly for 10 weeks from  noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Quincy Branch Library Conference Room, 445 Jackson Street, Quincy. Plumas Grief Support offers a safe and compassionate setting to share and explore experiences, feelings and emotions associated with grief.  Through discussion and readings, you will gain an understanding of grief and mourning, and discover ways of coping as you move forward in life without your loved one.

The group is facilitated by Sharon Taschenberg, a trained grief support specialist. Sharon is not a licensed therapist and the group is not a substitute for individual therapy. The group is supported by the Common Good Community Foundation and Plumas County Library.

For more information and to sign up for this free group contact Sharon Taschenberg @ (925) 998-3777, email [email protected], or call the Quincy Library at (530) 283-6310 and Sharon will be in touch. The group will follow masking and/or other COVID -19 health guidelines currently in place.
