Lois Beryl Jones
Lois Beryl Jones, born on March 21st, 1926, passed away in Davis California on December 27th, 2020, at the age of 94.
Lois was born in Coos Bay, Oregon and was raised in Meadow Valley, California. She was married to Henry William Jones in the Methodist Church in Quincy, California shortly after World War II. Henry was employed with the US Forest Service as an engineer geologist, which took the family to Nevada, Oregon, Alaska, and back to Quincy in 1965 where she lived until her move to Davis, California in 2013 to be closer to family.
Lois was active in her community throughout her life, and had many cherished friends. She will be remembered for her home cooked meals, butterscotch pies, and homemade bread. She was an artist who created watercolor paintings and beautiful hand made quilts, making them for family and friends. She was a life long member of the Methodist church and an active parishioner who crafted beautiful banners for the altar.
She was preceded in death by her husband Henry, and is survived by her four children, Alison Youngs, Wendy Jones, Kenneth Jones and Mark Jones. Lois has seven grandchildren and four great grand children. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends, and will forever be remembered for her kind and generous spirit. Lois will be interned in Hornbrook, California at the family plot. A celebration of life will be arranged when it is safe to gather. In remembrance, contributions may be made to the Plumas County Museum, United Methodist Church in Quincy, or the Heifer Project. All of these organizations were dear to her heart.
