Microbusiness Relief Grant – application portal now open

The Microbusiness COVID-19 Relief Grant (MBCRG) Program is funded through the California Office of the Small Business Advocate (CalOSBA). Sierra Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is administering this grant to microbusinesses in Sierra, Plumas, Lassen, and Modoc counties.

Individual grants are $2,500 each and the total allotment for Plumas County is $22,500, or nine grants. Applications are due June 30 and businesses are encouraged to apply now.

General grant eligibility criteria include being in business since December 2019, making less than $50,000 gross revenue in 2019, confirming the business is your primary source of income, being significantly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, you are currently in business or plan to reopen, you have less than 5 full-time equivalent employees, and you did not receive a California Relief Grant through Lendistry.

Go tohttps://www.sierrasbdc.com/microbiz-grants/ to fill out the application, which should take no more than 15 to 20 minutes. The first section is an eligibility section. If you pass that section, you will be able to fill out the rest of the application. If you would like assistance or have questions, please email [email protected] or call the Sierra SBDC at 530-582-5022. This is not a first-come, first-serve application process. If there are more applications than funding available, awardees will be chosen through a lottery system.
