Need a job? Plumas County is hiring
The Plumas County Sheriff has repeatedly warned the Board of Supervisors that his staff vacancies could impact public safety, but his office isn’t the only one feeling a personnel shortage. Yesterday the Plumas County Public Health Agency delayed its reporting of COVID numbers because it is short-staffed, and has asked the state for help in its contact tracing efforts.
The Plumas County Board of Supervisors routinely approves requests from department heads to fill vacant positions in their departments. The public can go to the county website and click on employment opportunities for a full rundown of the jobs available — the listings detail what the jobs entail and their rates of pay. As of Nov. 5 these are the jobs that are listed:

The county isn’t the only entity grappling with open positions. Other governmental agencies as will as the private sector struggle to fill vacancies. Restaurants have altered their schedules due to lack of personnel and even large companies, such as SPI, which has placed electronic billboards in key locations and is offering hiring bonuses are feeling the pinch.
