New team takes command of Beckwourth Complex
The morning of Sunday, July 18 brings a change of command, with California Interagency Incident Management Team 5 taking charge of the Beckwourth Complex as of 6 a.m. today.
Corey Rose, Team 5 operations section chief, briefly reported that as of this morning, the complex is at 105,348 and 73 percent containment.
“At the top north end of the fire, the fire has been well held, all the way around the east side and to the south- air resources will work on interior heat,” Rose said, pointing at the various flanks of the fire on a large map.
The lines that have been put in around the fire are holding well, and Rose also noted that on the west side, the team was working diligently with hand crews and aircraft through very steep terrain on containment, with no fire movement in the last three days.
