Dale Walter Curran

Dale Walter Curran, of Greenville, went to be with the Lord June 1, 2017, at Enloe Medical Center in Chico, after battling cancer.

Dale was born in Klamath Falls, Oregon, Dec. 26, 1954, and went on to attend Shasta High School in Redding where he and his twin brother Drew were very involved in sports, especially track. They both brought home many trophies throughout the years.

Dale started logging with his father and brothers after high school working closely with his twin brother for many years in the logging industry. He enjoyed logging and driving big equipment very much.

Later he worked for Collins Pines Company in Chester where he retired last year. Dale enjoyed living in Plumas County, he loved to just go for long drives around the county or on dirt roads enjoying its beauty. He always knew the best logging roads. He recently became involved helping his church with improvement projects. He loved the Lord and trusted His plan for him.

Dale joins his father, William (Kirk) Curran, mother, Anne Curran, brother, Kirk Curran, and sister, Susan Curran-Kohn in their eternal home.

In his passing, he leaves children, Nick Curran, Rachael Curran-Goings, Jessica Halverson-Lee, and Cole Halverson; twin brother, Drew Curran; nephews, Kirk Curran Jr. and Tyler Curran; nieces, Shannon Khon, Lisa Khon and Taryn Curran; and grandchildren, Nicholas Jr., Ava, Cheveyo, Addison, Gracie and Dixie.

A celebration of Dale’s life will be held on Saturday, June 24, at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Greenville at 133 Hot Springs Road in Greenville, CA. An opportunity to express condolences to the family along with signing the memorial guest register is available online at

Douglas Bruce Morgan

Douglas Bruce Morgan died June 5, 2017, in Portola the age of 71.

He was born in San Jose on Dec. 17, 1945.

In his passing he leaves his daughter and son-in-law, Cheri and Chris Ethen, of Oakdale, Minnesota, and grandchildren, Kenny, Joey, Nicholas, Jacob, Luke and Michaela.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated for the repose of his soul at St. Peters Catholic Church in North St. Paul, Minnesota with interment to follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Christopher David Rhoads

Chester resident Christopher David Rhoads lost his battle with cancer Thursday morning June 8, 2017, passing away at his residence at the age of 47.

Born Christmas day in 1969 in Redwood City, to David and Jo Ellen (Severson) Rhoads, Chris was raised and educated in the San Francisco Bay Area graduating from Aragon High School in San Mateo as a member of the Class of 1987. On July 18,1998, he married Debbie and to this union two daughters were born. Although this union ended in divorce the couple remained best of friends.

Chris Had been employed as a truck driver in the construction industry where his CB handle was “Cracker Chris” and “Grumpy” prior to his disability for some 23 years. He had a great love and respect for the outdoors where he enjoyed fishing and target shooting.

In his passing, he leaves the pride of his life his two daughters: Ronnie and Rylee, both of Chester; brothers, Anthony and his wife Elena, of Tracy and Bryan, of Las Vegas, Nevada; a sister, Kimberly Rhodes, of Tracy; along with four nieces and two nephews.

A celebration of Chris’s life is planned for Saturday, 2 p.m. June 24, at the Chester Community Center located behind the Chester Park. An opportunity to express your condolences to the family along with signing the memorial guest register is available online at
