Oroville/Quincy Highway reopened

During the January 2017 storms, two locations on the Oroville/Quincy Highway, near the community of Mountain House, experienced catastrophic failure. The first location had complete failure of the roadway embankment and the second location experienced the failure of a Mechanically Stabilized Earth (MSE) retaining wall.

Butte County announced that all roadway repairs have now been completed, and the roadway is reopened to all traffic effective Sept. 13.

The construction cost of this project was $ 2.4 million, funded primary by the Federal Emergency Relief (ER) funds, with supplemental funding provided by SB1 Gas Tax funds.
