Outdoor movie nights begin in Quincy tonight

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and Plumas Rural Services wants to offer activities that bring the family together. The organization is hosting a trio of movie nights to provide fun for the whole family.

Organizers hope to achieve social distancing by asking movie goers to remain in their cars. The movie will be shown on a large screen with a sound system amplifying the sound. Face masks and hand sanitizer will be available, as well as drinks and popcorn.

All movies begin at 7 p.m. with the following dates and locations:

Friday, Oct. 16: Dame Shirley Plaza in Quincy; Dumbo

Saturday, Oct. 17: Greenville High School; Onward

Saturday, Oct. 24: C. Roy Carmichael Elementary in Portola; The Secret Garden
