Over the side
Tow company workers retrieve a log truck that went over the side of the road on Highway 70 west of the Greenville Wye and east of Twain on Wednesday, Feb. 12, around 1 p.m. A 911 caller reported that the loaded log truck went down an embankment and into the river, according to a report from the Plumas County Sheriff’s dispatch center. The driver, from Oroville, was transferred by helicopter to Renown Hospital in Reno. Caltrans and log truck company representatives met Feb. 13 to determine how to remove the spilled logs.
