P.E.O. (Philanthropic Education Organization) Chapter KH of Quincy announced the presentation of $500 scholarships to two young women who have graduated from local high schools.

On June 6, Joyce Clare, Carolyn Dowdy and Marilyn Christensen attended the Quincy High School Senior Awards Night to present a scholarship to Sylvia Wood, who will attend Montana State University in the fall and plans to study music, music composition and ecology.

Lesley Juarez received her scholarship at the Portola High School Senior Awards Night on June 12. Lesley will attend Truckee Meadows Community College before transferring to a four-year university to pursue a bachelor’s degree in nursing science.

P.E.O. Chapter KH is extremely proud to recognize the dedication and ability of both these extraordinary young women, to congratulate them on their achievements and to wish them well in their studies.
