PDH ER still closed; walk-in clinic available
The power is still out in half of Quincy, and PG&E is working on providing a backup generator to Plumas District Hospital, so at this time (10:30 a.m. on Dec. 27) the emergency room remains on diversion. The hospital’s existing generator is not working.
Though the ER is not open, a walk-in clinic is available in the Quincy building on the hospital campus. It is being staffed by Dr. Joseph Schad and advanced practice provider Laura Orange. Those with pre-existing appointments are being triaged with the walk-ins.
It’s hoped that a generator will be in place for the hospital by this evening. As for restoring power to the area, CEO JoDee Read said that PG&E having trouble accessing their lines to asses where the problem is located.
