PDH to offer free sports physicals

Plumas District Hospital (PDH) is offering a free sports physical for all incoming Quincy Junior-Senior High School seventh-grade through senior students Saturday, June 29, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the small gym.

Students must have a parent present and should come dressed in athletic attire.Physical forms will be available on Saturday or can be picked up before at the high school office between 8:30 and 3 p.m.

Plumas District Hospital CEO JoDee Tittle, its board of directors and the participating physicians extend this service as a gesture of support to the high school athletics community.

Beginning in mid-August, electronic health record conversion at the hospital district will decrease medical appointment availability by up to 50 percent for approximately six weeks.

High demand for high school sports physicals takes place at the same time as the records conversion. The free sports physical clinic at the high school will help all other patients, since it will alleviate pressure on the clinic schedule this fall.
