PDH Volunteers offer five scholarships

The Plumas District Hospital Volunteers (PDHV) have been offering scholarships since 1978 to students who are pursuing a career in a health-related field. This is their 45th year and they have awarded $76,000 in scholarships to local students.

This year the PDHV will be offering five scholarships, (1) $2,000. (2) $1,000. And (2) $500.  Applicants must have completed a minimum of one year of academic studies in a health-related program or completed one year of employment in a health-related field, and are seeking to further their training to advance in a health-related career. Applicants must also be a graduate of a high school within the Plumas Hospital District boundary or be a resident within the boundary for a minimum of 1 year.

More information and applications are available by going to www.pdh.org/about-us/volunteers. The deadline for the application is Friday, April 14.  Any questions may be directed to Denise Pyper at [email protected].

The Volunteers will be celebrating their 45th birthday/anniversary at their next luncheon meeting on April 13.  There will be a business raffle to raise funds for the Scholarship Fund and the Volunteers thank the local businesses who have donated gift certificates to support the effort.
