Plumas announces five more positive cases – bringing the total to 14 this week
The Plumas County Public Health Agency announced five more positive coronavirus cases, this afternoon, Oct. 23, bringing the week’s total thus far to 14.
The five new test results are all for residents in the Southern Region (Quincy/American Valley) which are Nos. 64, 65, 66, 67 and 68. Positive resident No. 64 is related to other cases that were reported this week. Positive residents Nos. 66, 67 and 68 are all members of the same household. (Data wasn’t presented on No. 65 as it is still under investigation.)
Contact tracing investigation has started on all of the positive residents. If an exposed resident is identified during the investigation, the resident will be contacted by a member of the Public Health COVID-19 Response Team for further screening.
Earlier this week seven cases were reported on Tuesday, Oct. 20 and two more on Wednesday, Oct. 21. Of the 68 cases, 15 are active and at least one is hospitalized.
