Plumas Child Abuse Prevention Council holds Creative Arts Contest

For each age group through the age of 10, two options are available: using pre-designed coloring pages or drawing and/or a holiday/winter themed freestyle drawing. For the groups ages 11 and up, participants can either submit a holiday/winter themed freestyle drawing or an original poem.

Pre-designed coloring pages and Submission Forms are available at and can be printed from there or be picked up at Plumas County Social Services during business hours (270 County Hospital Road, Suite 207), at the Wellness Centers in Chester or Portola or at the current school site for Indian Valley located at 4289 Anne in Taylorsville.

Finalized artwork can be submitted by taking a photo or scanning and emailing it to:
[email protected] or may be delivered to Plumas County Social Services (270 County Hospital Road, Suite 207, Quincy, CA 95971).

Written works of poetry can be emailed in either Microsoft Word or PDF file to [email protected]. Entries may also be dropped off at Plumas County Social Services, the Wellness Centers in Portola and Chester or at the current school site for Indian Valley located at 4289 Anne in Taylorsville. The deadline for submission is Friday, Dec.17,  at noon. Submissions may also be mailed to Plumas County Social Services (address above), attention: Suzan Mah, and must be received by Friday, Dec.17,  at noon. Plumas Children’s Council works to help prevent child abuse and neglect in Plumas
County through child-centered activities and by providing information and resources to the public. The Council generally hosts the Children’s Fair each May along with other activities during Child Abuse Prevention Month in April. Due to COVID-19, the Council was not able to do its usual activities this year but instead provided Activity Bags for children in June and now this contest for the holidays. The Council is hopeful it will be able to return to normal activities in 2022. If you are interested in joining the Children’s Council, please contact Suzan Mah at [email protected].
