The Plumas Eureka Community Services District announced the appointment of a new general manager. During a special meeting Feb. 21, the District’s Board of Directors appointed Jamar Tate to the position. Jamar has worked for the District for 11 years, originally starting as a laborer, then promoting to the position of Facility Operator and then System Operator.
With Jamar’s experience and thorough understanding of the District’s water and wastewater operations along with his certification as a Class 3 Wastewater Treatment Operator, and Class 2 Certification for water treatment and distribution, the Board of Directors felt he was the perfect candidate for the position.
The Board of Directors also felt fortunate to be able to fill the position with an established local resident, Jamar was born and raised in Plumas County and currently resides in Portola with his wife and children.
