Plumas League elects new officers
Attorney Linda Judge is the new president of the League of Women Voters of Plumas County. Elected June 29, she will preside over the non-partisan organization with Jane Braxton Little, vice president; Karen Pierson, secretary; and Ruth Jackson, treasurer.
The League is currently reviewing contested races for local, state and national offices to be determined in the November 8 election. Among its civic functions is holding forums to introduce candidates to the public. Look for announcements of up-coming forums in early September.
Also under review is the topic of the Plumas League’s Nancy Lund Memorial Essay Contest. Plumas County students from grades nine through 12 are invited to participate. Applications will be available in early September.
