Plumas Public Health announces 50th confirmed case

The Plumas County Public Health Agency announced a positive COVID-19 test result, today, Sept. 21, for a resident in the Eastern region (Portola/ Graeagle area) which is No. 50. The individual is a healthcare worker and a contact tracing investigation was started with close contacts identified. If an exposed resident is identified during the investigation, the resident will be contacted by a member of the Public Health COVID-19 Response Team for further screening.

The last positive case was identified Sept. 15, also for a resident in the Eastern region (Portola/ Graeagle area) which was No. 49. That individual had symptoms.

Prior to that, the agency last received notification of positive COVID-19 test results on Sept. 11 — 0ne also for a resident in the Eastern region (Portola/ Graeagle area) and another in the Southern region (American Valley/Quincy area).

Of the 50 cases, only one is considered active.
