Plumas Public Health confirms case No. 52

The Plumas County Public Health Agency announced this morning that it received notification of a positive COVID-19 test result for a resident in the Eastern regiona (Portola/ Graeagle area), which is No. 52.

The individual is symptomatic and is employed as a healthcare worker outside of Plumas County. Contact tracing investigation was started with close contacts identified.

Another Eastern Plumas resident was confirmed positive Oct. 2. That person also works out of the area, but was not identified as a healthcare worker. Prior to that case, the last confirmed case was also in Eastern Plumas on Sept. 21 and that individual was identified as a healthcare worker.

If an exposed resident is identified during the investigation, the resident will be contacted by a member of the Public Health COVID-19 Response Team for further screening. Please see attached map for the latest breakdown of cases. There have been 52 confirmed cases of COVID-19 — 50 are considered recovered; two are active. There have been no deaths and only a handful of hospitalizations.
