Plumas Search and Rescue continue looking for missing man

Plumas County Search and Rescue spent a second day searching for a man who went missing near Rock Creek in the Feather River Canyon. Teams were called out yesterday morning, but had to postpone the search at nightfall. They resumed this morning, Feb. 1.

Frank Christopher’s truck was parked in the area, but there has been no sign of the missing man. Reportedly he had been camping in the area and was believed to be hiking. Christopher is from Butte County. Plumas County Investigations Sergeant said that a missing persons report has been filed with the Chico Police Department.

Search and Rescue personnel are using dogs and drones, and are receiving assistance from a CHP helicopter, with the search. There is no cell phone communication in the area, making updates difficult. More information will be posted as it becomes available.
