Plumas Unified reports 3 more cases

The COVID-19 cases associated with Plumas Unified School District continue to trickle in and today, Nov. 8,  was no exception.

The district reported three new cases — two at Chester Elementary and one at the district office today.

So far in November, the district has reported:

Alder campus of Quincy Elementary:  4

Pioneer campus of Quincy Elementary: 4 (closed a classroom)

Quincy Junior-Senior High School: 1

Portola Junior-Senior High School:6

Chester Junior-Senior High School: 1

Chester Elementary: 2

Taylorsville: 2 (closed a combined class)

District Office: 2

The district is working with the Public Health Agency to contact trace and notify those who could be impacted. During this morning’s Board of Supervisors meeting, Public Health Director Dana Loomis said that his agency is hiring more contact tracers to help with the backload of cases in the county, as well as in anticipation of a possible winter surge. In addition, the California Department of Public Health is helping with the county’s contact tracing.
