Popular mural vandalized; woman arrested though on unrelated charge

A mural, that is very visible in downtown Quincy, was vandalized Saturday night.

The Plumas County Sheriff’s Dispatch Center received a report of a vandalism that occurred to the mural located at the intersection of Main and Bradley streets in Quincy on Feb. 26 at approximately 11:12 p.m.

A sergeant and deputy responded to the area and located a female subject who had paint on her person and clothing matching the paint on the mural. An investigation was conducted leading to the arrest of the female subject for unrelated charges. A charge of vandalism will be referred to the Plumas County District Attorney’s Office to review for prosecution.
