Portola Tiger softball travels far and wide for warm-up competition

The lady Tigers have been getting ready for a lively season of softball by playing teams from Lovelock, Nevada to Weaverville. So far this season the Tigers have played Sparks, Pershing County, HUG, Chester, Trinity, Mt. Shasta, Biggs, Hamilton, Los Molinos, Plumas Charter, and Loyalton. The girls are playing tough competition to sharpen their skills. Their overall record is 5 wins, 6 losses, and one tie. They have two more non-league games before conference play begins. Both are played in Portola: Monday, April 4, at 3 p.m. the Tigers host the Los Molinos Bulldogs, and Wednesday, April 6, at 3 p.m. with the Virginia City Muckers. League starts at home in Portola for the Tigers Friday, April 8, in a doubleheader with the Williams Yellowjackets with games starting at 2 and 4 p.m. The Tigers travel to Loyalton for a non-league game Monday, April 11, at 3 p.m. and play a league doubleheader with Hamilton Thursday, April 14, at 2 and 4 p.m. before spring break.
