Preparations underway for annually Rubber Ducky Race

Do these yellow critters look familiar? They Should! This is the first stage of preparing for the Great Feather River Duck Race. The thousands of little ducks must be sorted by number to ensure every ticket sold has a duck in the race. This Chester Rotary event is held annually on the 4th of July with the first three winners receiving $1000, $500 and $250 respectively.  The remainder of the proceeds go to scholarships for graduating high school seniors.  Boy Scout Troop 36 joined the Chester Rotary members to sort out bags and bags of these athletic little racing ducks to make sure they’re ready for the big event. Don’t forget to get your tickets from any Chester Rotary member or at the Rotary Memorial Weekend Crafts Fair at Chester Park. Photo by Cheri McIntire
