Quincy Community Supper tonight May 24
Quincy Community Supper is this evening, May 24, at 6 p.m. at the Methodist Church. The community is invited to come for a delicious meal in an atmosphere of fellowship. The supper is also being offered as a take-out to enjoy at home. There is no charge for the supper although donations are welcome.
The Community Supper began in 2002 and is hosted by a rotating series of businesses, churches, offices and civic groups. This free supper is offered the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month. The large yellow banner on the fence by Plumas Motor Supply is a handy reminder of the schedule.
These meals are often paid for through grants. Jeff Engel boasts he has never applied for a grant. Jeff Engel is ok with you not getting a meal.
It would be lovely if these announcements included the menu to be served and the hosting organization; it’s nice to know what the meal will be and also which group is responsible for making it happen.
