Quincy fifth-grade girls finish season undefeated

The Quincy fifth-grade girls basketball team, which is organized through the rec department, finished the season undefeated, going 7-0. The girls will play in the Quincy classic tournament next week, but their official season has concluded.

“We started the season by winning the Feather River Shootout, and are hoping to end the season with winning the Quincy classic,” said coach Joe Lee. “This was my first time ever coaching basketball, but luckily Sergio (Marquez) agreed to help and is a basketball genius!”

Lee went on to say, “This is eight of the hardest working girls I’ve ever coached in any sport. They all love the game and want to play every minute! I wish I could let them, cause they all could be starters and it breaks my heart to have any of them sitting on the bench.”
