Quincy Rotary announces winners of annual raffle

The Quincy Rotary Club sold 250 tickets for its 10th annual 50/50 raffle held  Feb. 11.  And the winners are:

1st   Place         $2,500          Piper Platt, Truckee, California

2nd   Place         $1,500          Hershel and Kathy Beal, Quincy

3rd   Place         $1,000          Mike and Lisa Kelly, Quincy

4th   Place         $   500           Mateo Ramirez, Brunswick,  MA

5th   Place         $   250           JoAnn Prince, Quincy

6th   Place         $   250           Nancy Gambell, Quincy

7th   Place         $   250.         Tim Reid, Penn Valley, California

The  remaining proceeds will support Rotary’s  youth programs including camps for Eighth Grade Leader and Rotary Youth Leadership  Awakening  for eleventh grade  students,  Rotary’s Speech and Music Contests, Feather River College Scholarships, dictionaries for sixth-grade students, and the  Kindergarten Reading Program and other youth activities in our community.

Quincy Rotary Club is very appreciative of the long-standing support of community members in purchasing  tickets for the 50/50 Raffle and the Rotary Golf Tournament, which is scheduled this year on May 7 at Plumas Pines Golf Course.  In the weeks ahead, there will be more information on  how to register for the golf tournament.  It is designed to be a fun event  for all and all proceeds from the tournament  will be  devoted to community needs.

Past examples of Rotary’s  support include Rotary Park and Pavilion, improvements  on the Plumas County Fairgrounds, wrestling mats for Quincy High School  Rotary Closets in Pioneer and Adler Elementary Schools,  and Rotary  benches on trails to name a few.
