Quincy Rotary holds annual speech contest

The Quincy Rotary Speech Contest was held Monday, March 6.  A large group attended the event, which had been postponed a week due to weather. The participants included Savannah Little, Madeline Baker, Adria Black, Abby Warren, Madeline Blausfuss, and Tessa Batiste.

They all wrote a speech on the topic: How have you imagined working together to better the lives of others, and how did you implement your idea:?

The first-place winner was Savannah Little; second place went to Madeline Blausfuss; third place was won by Adria Black. Savannah will move on to compete at the Area Speech Contest which includes Greenville and Portola Rotary clubs  in Quincy on March 18. The winner of that competition then moves to District 5190 which covers much of the Eastern Sierras.

The monetary prizes increase at each level. The Quincy Club awarded $100 for 1st Place, $75 for 2nd Place and $50 for 3rd Place. The winner of the District is awarded $1,000.
