Quincy Sparkle, light parade and tree lighting Dec. 2
Submitted the Quincy Chamber of Commerce
Friday, December 2nd marks our 32nd Annual Sparkle celebration; an evening of fun, shopping and entertainment! The magic begins at 5:00 p.m., with businesses staying open late for some fantastic Christmas shopping.
At 5:30 we welcome back Beautiful Feet Dance Company to perform on the Courthouse steps; it’s been a couple of years due to COVID, so we are definitely looking forward to their dancing!
At 5:50 Lilah Washburn and the Quincy Pickers will entertain us with live music and songs.
At 6:00 Lia Knight and Chris Montgomery will be back with a quick welcome from JDX Radio, followed by James Shipp, Director of the Central Plumas Recreation and Park District, announcing the winner(s) of the Christmas Light Contest!
We have an a Capella group performing and leading us in Christmas carols starting at 6:10 p.m., followed by our small-town favorite Light Parade.
Look out for Santa as he arrives at the Courthouse around 7:00 p.m., compliments of our very own Quincy Volunteer Fire Department.
The High Sierra Winter Witches will enthrall us at 7:15 p.m., followed up by long-time Sparkle entertainer, Johnny Walker as he ramps up the crowd for the Christmas tree lighting at 7:30.
Immediately following that our own Quincy circus; Quircus, lights up the night with their fire-dancing flair!
Remember to visit our local restaurants and shops that night; there will also be various fundraisers and food and drink galore!
Bring your friends, bring your family, and enjoy the tradition of Sparkle!
