Quincy wrestlers take five 1st-place awards from League Championship

 

“It has been a rough start for our Quincy Trojans, but we are working toward our season the right way, working hard and winning,” said long time Quincy High School wrestling coach Russell Nickerson. “We had our Shasta Cascade League Championships Tournament on Jan. 28 at Fall River High School in McArthur.” And the results are in.

QHS Boys:

106 lbs. – Connor Pangburn, 1st place (League Champion at 106 lbs.)

113 lbs. – Daniel Nickerson, 1st place (League Champion at 113 lbs.)

120 lbs. – Aiden Lynd, 2nd place

145 lbs. – Quinton Vert, 6th place

152 lbs. – Isaiah White, 2nd place

182 lbs. – Aidan Powers, 1st place (League Champion at 182 lbs.)

195 lbs. – Troy Ayotte, 1st place (League Champion at 195lbs.)

QHS Girls:

126 lbs. – Ella Bratcher, 2nd place

170 lbs. – Genasea Klein, 1st place (League Champion at 170 lbs.)

“I am so proud of our Quincy wrestlers,” said Nickerson. “We took nine wrestlers (7 boys and 2 girls) (and) had all but one wrestler bring home a medal. Thank you to all our Quincy Junior Senior High School Wrestling supports in Quincy and beyond.”
