Red Flag Warning continues through Wednesday afternoon
Gusty north to northeast winds combined with low humidity will continue critical fire weather through Wednesday afternoon. While the gusty winds are forecast to diminish Wednesday morning, the low humidity will keep critical fire weather conditions in place for parts of the area through the afternoon.
The results of today’s winds have already been seen on the North Complex Fire, which spotted over the Middle Fork of the Feather River forcing the evacuation of La Porte and Little Grass Valley Reservoir. Butte County has issued an evacuation warning for Feather Falls. Structure protection has been relocated from Bucks Lake to La Porte.
Portions of Plumas County are under a Public Safety Power Shutoff through PG&E. Residents who receive their power from Plumas Sierra Rural Electric have been warned to expect rolling blackouts. Power restoration is expected to be between 7 and 9 p.m. tomorrow evening, if weather and equipment conditions allow.
