When a Jeep Grand Cherokee went off Highway 70 just west of Chandler Road, east of Quincy, it went down an embankment, through a fence and rolled. The driver was thrown from the vehicle and sustained major injuries. When law enforcement officers from the CHP and Plumas Sheriff’s Office discovered a child safety seat in the vehicle, and the victim was unable to say whether a child was with him, they began a search through the tall grass. Apparently the victim was alone in the Jeep. The victim was airlifted to another hospital. The crash occurred Tuesday, Sept. 10, before 5 p.m. Photos by Victoria Metcalf
