ARRESTS
Chester
A deputy reported the arrest of a man charged with driving under the influence and having a blood alcohol level of .08 percent or higher, and driving without a license. The man caused a verbal disturbance at Seneca. He yelled at employees and his wife then left. The wife requested contact at the hospital. The man was issued a trespass warning from Seneca with the exception of medical reasons.
Greenville
A deputy reported the arrest of a man charged with violating his probation and failing to register as a sex offender.
Probation reported the arrest of a man charged with violating his probation.
A deputy reported the arrest of a man charged with possession of methamphetamines, possession of drug paraphernalia and carrying a concealed knife.
A deputy reported the arrest of a woman charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of methamphetamine for sale, transporting meth for sale and violation of her probation.
A deputy reported the arrest of a woman charged with receiving stolen property.
Portola
A deputy reported the arrest of a man charged with possession of methamphetamines, possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, illegal possession of a prescription, violating a court order and being under the influence of a controlled substance. The man was arrested on a probation check.
A deputy reported the arrest of a man charged with violating his probation, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of methamphetamine. The arrest was made on a probation check.
A probation officer reported the arrest of a man charged with violating his probation, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of meth.
A deputy reported the arrest of a man charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and probation violation.
In Portola, a deputy reported the arrest of a woman charged with injuring a spouse or cohabitant.
Quincy
A deputy reported the arrest of a man charged with being under the influence of a controlled substance. A caller reported that a customer’s vehicle was being vandalized. It was unknown if the man had any weapons. The individual threatened to set someone’s truck on fire.
A deputy reported the arrest of a man charged with driving under the influence. A caller reported that a pickup was being driven with no license plates. The information was transferred to the CHP. The vehicle was towed.
The CHP reported the arrest of a man charged with driving under the influence and having a blood alcohol level of .08 percent or higher. A caller reported receiving a message from a friend that her vehicle went into a creek at River Ranch RV Park. A woman got out of the vehicle and didn’t appear to be injured. The information was transferred to the CHP.
Quincy Fire Department and Plumas District Hospital were paged as a precaution. Someone spoke to someone at the RV park and she said that a man and a woman were out of the vehicle and not injured but the vehicle was upside down in the creek. It was thought the couple had been drinking, It was also reported that the bike trail chain link fence was damaged and the information was sent to the road department.
The CHP reported the arrest of a woman charged with driving under the influence. The vehicle was involved in a non-injury traffic accident.
The CHPH reported the arrest of a man charged with driving under the influence and having a blood alcohol level of .08 percent or higher. He was also charged with child endangerment. A caller reported that she was at Sparkle with her family when her son-in-law drove a truck home. When she got home she noticed that her car looked like it had been hit. The information was transferred to the CHP.
A deputy reported the arrest of a man charged with being intoxicated. A caller reported that a man was leaving a bar and that he was extremely intoxicated. He was getting into a vehicle. The information was transferred to the CHP and then a deputy.
Twain
A deputy reported the arrest of a woman charged on an outstanding warrant. She reported that a man was shooting a firearm. She heard about 15 shots and believed he was shooting toward her. They were involved in an argument earlier. A deputy contacted the man who said he was shooting on his back acres in a safe manner. It’s an ongoing situation.
Virgilia
The CHP reported the arrest of a man charged with driving under the influence and having a blood alcohol level of .08 percent or higher.
MISCELLANEOUS
Tuesday, Dec. 10
Disturbance reported
In Greenville, a child reported that someone pushed him. No medical was needed. Someone spoke to the parent and he said the child was upset because he couldn’t find a belt. A woman was in the bedroom packing them and was going to leave. They were arguing and then were separated.
Injured deer reported
In the Lake Almanor Peninsula area, a caller reported that a deer was impaled on a fence. The fence was behind a house. The CHP was notified and handled the situation.
Trespassing reported
In Quincy, a reporting party reported that someone returned to a vacant lot next to his residence. He had an RV and the caller wanted him removed from the property. A second call came in from someone who said the man had permission to keep an eye on the owner’s property. The person was trespassed from the property. The deputy attempted to contact the individual. It was reported that the motorhome was gone.
Harassment reported
In the Chilcoot area, a caller said that someone just showed up at her friend’s residence. He was harassing her and trying to find out where she lives. He was knocking on the door and calling her on the phone. Two adults and two children were in the residence. The reporting party was concerned because the man had a history of being violent. A deputy attempted to contact the woman but the call was dropped. The deputy eventually explained temporary restraining order procedures. She was also told to contact law enforcement in Nevada where she lives.
Threats over a dog
In Portola, a caller reported an ongoing dispute over a dog. The caller requested contact from a deputy. A deputy attempted to contact the caller and didn’t get an answer.
Disturbance reported
In Portola, a caller said that a man was causing problems. He was outside walking around. Someone at the resource center asked that he be trespassed from there.
Medical required
In Quincy, it was reported that a 4-year-old had a head injury at the elementary school. Medical was on scene.
Children not in school
In Portola, someone requested a welfare check on some children. They hadn’t been in school since before Thanksgiving.
Incident in a parking lot
In Quincy, a caller reported that a domestic violence incident just occurred in a parking lot. The parties were separated and a deputy was needed. They were arguing. The man went to the emergency room for treatment.

Suspicious situation
In Portola in a complex near the railroad museum a caller said that a suspicious pickup was there. Lots of cars kept going up to the vehicle and then leaving. No deputy was in the area then. Later a deputy checked the area, but couldn’t locate the suspicious vehicle.
Incorrigible juvenile reported
In Greenville, a sergeant received a report of an incorrigible juvenile. The juvenile was counseled and agreed to keep the peace.
Light seen up the street
In Portola, a caller said she recently served her ex with a restraining order. Then she thought that someone with a light was up the street flashing it at her. The caller was concerned. A deputy spoke to her and put extra patrol checks in place.
Monday, Dec. 9
No where to go
In Quincy, a caller reported that a man dropped her off at a specific location and then he left. She said she is pregnant. The woman was transported back to her vehicle.

Being stalked
In Portola, a caller said a man she knows was stalking her. He was currently outside her parents’ home and she was in Reno. She said he carries weapons and had had multiple charges for assault. A deputy responded and contacted the parents who said they hadn’t seen anything that was suspicious. Deputies checked alleyways around the residence and were unable to locate the suspect. There was also a dog at the house and it hadn’t barked. A deputy tried to contact the reporting party but she didn’t answer.
Vandalism at post office
In Portola, a caller reported vandalism.
Burglary reported
In Delleker, a caller reported that his residence was burglarized about four days earlier. He discovered it when he returned home. Multiple items were missing. A deputy spoke to the person. He said that things had also been moved. A deputy provided the reporting party contact information for Plumas Rural Services.
Vehicle filled with pot
In Quincy, a reporting party said he was getting suspicious phone calls that someone located a car in Texas that was registered to him. It was filled with marijuana. The caller claimed to be with Social Security and informed the caller that he needed to provide his Social Security number so they could change it. The caller didn’t provide any information.
Possible violent student
In Quincy, a caller reported they needed a deputy to assist with a student that was known to be violent. He was running around campus and was last seen in the hall. The deputy counseled the juvenile. He was suspended from school and released to his mother.
Threat reported
In Chester, a caller reported that a patient he treated some years ago was calling him and making threats. The caller provided a wrong number for contact.
Drugs disposed
In Quincy, A deputy contacted someone who wanted to know the proper way to dispose of drugs.
Power to be shut off
In Quincy, someone reported that she got a suspicious call from someone saying they were going to shut off her power.
Citation issued
In Greenville, A deputy cited a man charged with driving an unregistered vehicle, tire tread requirement and no evidence of financial responsibility.
Doesn’t want the bird
In Beckwourth, a caller requested contact from a deputy about a bird she bought. The deputy contacted the party who said she didn’t want the bird anymore. The deputy provided her with the proper civil procedures.
Harassment reported
In Quincy, a caller said a man was harassing her. A deputy provided the proper temporary restraining order procedures.
Student not in school
In Quincy, a caller said she was the student services coordinator with the high school and there was a student who hadn’t attended school for six days. She said the parent talked about switching schools, but didn’t know if that occurred. A deputy provided the caller with contact information for the district attorney’s investigator who knew the student. The deputy also attempted to contact the parent and left a message.
Theft reported
In Portola, a caller reported the theft of liquor.
Cabin being vandalized
In Chilcoot, a caller said there was a cabin in her backyard and that people were ripping it apart and taking things out of it. There were four to six people involved although the caller said she couldn’t see them, only hear them. A deputy checked the area and couldn’t find anything suspicious.
Very loud party
In Quincy, a caller reported that some college kids were having a party and they were being extremely loud. The caller asked that a deputy have them quiet down. A deputy contacted a large group of students who were celebrating the volleyball companionship. They agreed to keep the peace.
Sunday, Dec. 8
Dodge hit
In Quincy, a caller reported that her Dodge was parked on Main Street when she noticed that someone had hit it. The information was transferred to the CHP.
Citation issued
In Quincy, a deputy reported citing a juvenile who was charged with driving without a license.
Hard to reach accident
On the Beckwourth Spur, it was reported that there was a vehicle accident with no injuries. The information was transferred to the CHP. The CHP was unable to reach the GMC due to the terrain. The information was given to the USFS. The vehicle was unoccupied and out of the roadway.
Won’t come home
In Greenville, a caller said her daughters were refusing to come home. They were with their father. A deputy provided the proper civil procedures.
Rockslide reported
A caller reported a rockslide and that one vehicle was involved. No one was injured. The information was transferred to the CHP. Dispatch received an open line that pinned to the rockslide. A female was heard in the background but dispatch was unable to recontact. Several 911 calls were transferred to the CHP. Multiple vehicles were involved with unknown injuries. Quincy Fire and PDH were paged. The information went to the county road department. The incident was listed by dispatch as occurring in the Bucks Lake Road/Rock Creek area near Quincy.
Wouldn’t let her in
In Chester, a caller said that her husband locked the door and wouldn’t let her inside. The 19-year-old son was inside. No weapons were involved. The woman agreed to leave for the day.
Hole in the tank
In Portola, a deputy reported that a woman said that someone put a hole in her gas tank. The information was transferred to the substation.
Assault reported
Information was transferred to the district attorney and child protective services concerning the report that a woman assaulted someone’s son. No medical was needed.
Vandalism reported
In Canyon Dam, a caller reported that someone vandalized a sign. It was reported that it was a civil issue between the reporting party and Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railroad. The sign is currently buried in the snow. No vandalism occurred.
Aggressive dogs reported
In Portola, a caller reported that there were three aggressive dogs on her property. She said that two of them were chocolate labs and one was a golden lab. The information was transferred to animal control.
Disturbance calls in
Dispatch received an abandoned 911 call. When dispatch returned the call the dispatcher could hear two women arguing. Then the line disconnected. No answer was received on the call back. A deputy learned that two women were arguing and were separated. One of the women is wanted on an Orange County warrant.
Leaving town
In Portola, a woman called and said she was leaving her husband and wanted to know if she could take a vehicle if both of their names were on the title. She was advised not to take it because her husband could report it stolen. She called back and said her husband had been drinking and drove off on his way toward Sacramento. The information was passed to the CHP.
Banging on the house
In Quincy, a caller reported that someone in a van was driving by his house. The individual would scream and then bang on the side of the house. The van wasn’t present right then. A deputy provided extra patrol checks on the van and the unknown suspects.
Saturday, Dec. 7
Massive slide reported
From the Greenville Wye to Butte, the CHP reported that Highway 70 was closed because of a massive slide. The information was given to deputies. The highway was reported open about six hours later.
Wreck reported
On Quincy Junction and west of Lee Road near Quincy, the CHP received a report that someone’s girlfriend was a victim in a vehicle accident. The CHP requested an ambulance as a precaution, but the victim declined and the reporting party would drive her to the hospital. The man said he had a bump on his head and was a little dizzy. A deputy was asked to respond because he was closer to the scene than the CHP unit. The deputy requested Quincy Fire and PDH, and they responded. The girlfriend was still going to transport the man. When the CHP arrived they handled the incident.
Vandalism reported
In Quincy, a manager of a storage company was on site and reported that some of the units were broken into and others vandalized. A deputy checked the situation.
Homeless man noticed
In Blairsden, a deputy spoke to someone who reported that a homeless man was living down the road in his vehicle. The reporting party wanted to help the man, but had questions for the deputy first.
Disturbance reported
In Quincy, a caller reported that a man and a woman were arguing. The woman picked up a stick and threatened the man. The reporting party said they had been at their location for an hour. A deputy contacted them and they agreed to leave the area.
Threat and harassment reported
In Quincy, a caller reported that a disturbance occurred in a parking lot at a business. A man made threats that he was going to break into a woman’s house. He threatened to harm the woman’s husband. The reporting party was requesting a call from a deputy. The deputy said that threats had not occurred. He provided the proper procedures for a temporary restraining order.
All day, all night
In Portola, a caller reported loud music was an ongoing problem. It was going on all day and all during the previous night. The reporting party called back and said the neighbors turned the music off.
Pipe found
In Crescent Mills, a caller said he found a pipe that he thought was used in a crime the previous week. A sergeant said there wasn’t a crime reported where a pipe was used. A deputy agreed.
Shots fired
In Blairsden, it was reported that someone was shooting with a possible pistol. The reporting party said he saw a flashlight on his property. A deputy contacted a man in front of the residence who denied any shooting and didn’t have knowledge of any. A deputy attempted to contact a woman who lived in another residence, but she refused to open the door.
Boulder wins
On Highway 70 between Rush Creek and Rich Bar in the Feather River Canyon, the CHP transferred a request for medical at an incident. An Audi ran into a boulder. The victim was complaining of chest pain and didn’t know where he was. The call was transferred to REMSA. PDH and Quincy Fire responded.
Four-year-old on the loose
In Blairsden, a caller reported that a little girl walked away from a home. The caller said they searched the house and the neighborhood. She was last seen 15 minutes earlier. She was wearing a unicorn sweatshirt and flowered leggings. The reporting party called back to said they found her under a pile of blankets on the bed. She was sound asleep.
Noisy guests
Near Portola, a businessperson requested a welfare check on two guests. They were at the bar and were arguing. Then they went back to their room. Other guests were complaining that they could hear banging on something. A deputy said the woman got another room and they agreed to keep the peace.
Drunken man in the yard
In Chester, a caller reported a drunken man in her yard. While she was on the phone he walked away. She didn’t need assistance. A deputy reported that no one could confirm that the man was intoxicated by just seeing him on her camera.
Making noise
In Portola, a caller reported that her neighbors were making a bunch of noise. She said it was an ongoing issue. A deputy contacted a man who agreed to keep the peace.
Friday, Dec. 6
Suspicious activity reported
In Quincy, a caller reported that a man went into a place and threw glass at the caller and his customers. A sergeant was in court and a deputy had an extended time of arrival from Portola. The information was transferred to the CHP to assist. Sergeants checked the area and were unable to locate the person.
Bones found
In Greenville, a caller said he found some bones behind his property. A deputy said it was a deer leg.
Using a rock to break things
In Quincy, a caller reported receiving information that a man might have broke his truck window with a rock for an unknown reason. The caller asked to speak to a deputy.
Fire reported
At White Hawk Ranch, a caller reported an out of control burn pile. Graeagle Fire was paged. It was reported that the fire was under control.
Man causing problems
In Portola, someone reported that a man was causing problems behind a bar. The man left before the deputies arrived. A deputy sent out a BOLO, but was unable to find the man.
Hit by a vehicle
In Quincy in a parking lot, a caller reported that he was trying to park his vehicle and a gentleman claimed that he hit him with the vehicle. The information was transferred to the CHP. Then it was reported that the victim was a woman.
Rock went through a window
In Meadow Valley, a caller reported that when she got home she noticed that someone had thrown a rock through her bedroom window. The caller said that people have been threatening her son.
Dog bit dog situation
In Portola, a deputy reported that a dog bit a dog. A deputy was going to pick up the dog. A deputy said it was an 8-month-old pit bull mix and he knew the owner. The victim dog was a Chihuahua that had injuries to the chest and left paw. It was known whom the little dog belonged to. The information was given to animal control.
Light shining in the window
In Quincy, a caller reported that someone was shining a light into her bedroom window. She said there was a light post outside, but the light was burned out. A deputy couldn’t find anything suspicious.
Part of vehicle into a ditch
Bucks Lake Road between Ranch Road and South Padre, a caller reported seeing a car in a ditch. The back half of the vehicle was still on the roadway. No one was in or around the vehicle. The information was transferred to the CHP.
House being TPed as they spoke
In Quincy, a caller said her house was being toilet-papered right then.
Gunshots heard
In Portola, a caller reported hearing possible gunshots behind her house in an alley. The caller heard four or five shots. A deputy was coming from Quincy. The CHP was going to check out the situation and reported that everything was quiet when they arrived.
Rocks in the road
At River Dance and Bucks Lake Road near Quincy, the CHP reported a few rockslides and requested that the road department do rock runs.
Someone’s outside
In Quincy, a caller reported that someone was outside at her downstairs neighbor’s door yelling and banging on the door. The caller was unsure of who was there. A deputy said the person was just leaving and agreed to keep the peace.
Assault reported
In Quincy at a bar, a caller reported that a man attacked him out front.
Thursday, Dec. 5
A key was the problem
In Portola, someone reported that two people were creating a disturbance over the key to a residence. A restraining order was on file but the restrained party had not been served. A deputy contacted the reporting party. The incident was verbal and everyone agreed to keep the peace.
Head-on reported
On Highway 70 at Scott Road, second hand information came in about a head-on collision between two vehicles that were blocking the roadway. Sierra Valley Fire and Eastern Plumas Health Care were notified. A helicopter was requested, but it couldn’t fly due to the weather. The patient was transported to Renown in Reno.
Theft reported
In Chester, a caller said that her snow blower was stolen during the night. She said it was between the house and a truck and that it was covered. She saw it last night and then it wasn’t there the next morning. She said there are tracks in the snow. She called back to say a relative borrowed it.
Burglary suspected
In Quincy, a caller said she had third-hand information that someone broke into her father’s hangar at the airport. Other people said that nothing was missing. A deputy checked and there was no sign of forced entry. The deputy also checked other hangers and none were damaged.
Bite case reported
In Portola, an animal control officer requested a case number for a bite case. A woman was involved with a pitbull.
Disturbing dispatch
From Delleker, dispatch in Quincy discovered an open 911 call in which a woman was screaming in the background. Then the call was disconnected. The CHP reported that the caller said that her father punched her in the face. Dispatch contacted a woman who said there was a disturbance, but everyone was separated. A deputy said the parties were separated and no one wanted to press charges.
Overdose reported
In Quincy, a caller requested an ambulance for a man who accidentally overdosed on morphine. Quincy Fire and PDH responded.
Lying in the driveway
In Quincy, a caller said that a man was lying in his driveway. A deputy contacted juvenile who was waiting for a ride. He was fine.
Juvenile leave
In Quincy, a caller said that a juvenile wouldn’t leave the property at the high school. However he was not supposed to be on the property because he was suspended from school. The person was in the big gym. A deputy said the juvenile left the school and was released to the guardian.
Cross the line
Eastbound on Highway 70 from Butterfly Valley Road, a caller reported that the driver of a small SUV was crossing over the yellow line and not maintaining speeds. The information was transferred to the CHP.
Boyfriend’s in trouble
In Quincy, a caller said that her ex-boyfriend just tried to break out the window of her car by punching it. A sergeant spoke to both parties and they were arguing. No restraining order was in place. The sergeant explained temporary restraining order procedures.

Citation issued
In Chester, a citation was issued to a man who was charged with driving without a valid license, having a light out, driving without insurance and not having the vehicle registered.
Wednesday, Dec. 4
Suspicious situation
In Quincy, a caller reported that a suspicious person was at the middle school wearing a backpack. A deputy checked the school and didn’t find the individual. The deputy spoke to someone with a construction crew at the school. They said they’d call if they found anyone or anything that was suspicious.
No parking, please
In Quincy, a caller said that people that work at the mill were parking on her property. She wanted to know what she could do to stop them. A deputy contacted the person and explained civil procedures. The CHP was also contacted.
Questions about a suspicious vehicle
In Indian Falls, a sergeant received a reported that a suspicious vehicle was parked at the end of the road since the previous Friday. No one was around it. It had Nevada plates. The information was transferred to the CHP.
Reindeer early?
In Quincy, a caller said that two deer were in the roadway. They were alive, but confused. The information was transferred to the CHP.
Fight reported
In Quincy, a caller reported a fight. No weapons were reported. A deputy said the fight was between two men. Neither wanted to press charges.
Odd place to park
Near Greenville, a caller said there was a strange car parked in his driveway. The information was transferred to the CHP.
Stray cats an issue
In Blairsden, a caller said there were stray cats and four or five kittens under the house. The information was transferred to animal controlled.
Harassment reported
In Portola, a caller said her neighbor was harassing her with text messages. The neighbor was threatening to fight her in the middle of the street and to shoot them. The man was counseled and agreed to keep the peace. The caller was given the correct civil procedures.
Cutting chains
At the Park and Ride on Highway 89 and Highway 70, a caller reported that a neighbor cut the chains off his gate and walked through his property. The deputy counseled the man and he agreed not to trespass.
Disturbance in a driveway
In Quincy, a caller said a woman was causing problems. She parked her car in a driveway and refused to move it. A deputy was unable to locate her but a neighbor said they could notify her to move her vehicle.
Hard to see
In Quincy, a caller reported low visibility at the crosswalk going over Highway 70 in front of a business. The information was transferred to the CHP.
Citation issued
In Greenville, a deputy reported citing a woman who was charged with driving an unregistered vehicle, driving on the wrong side of the road and no evidence of financial responsibility.
Citation reported
In Greenville, a deputy reported citing an individual who was charged with trespassing and having an obscured license plate.
Tuesday, Dec. 3
Flagging a deputy
On Highway 89 near Greenville, a deputy was flagged down by a man who said he needed medical for a woman with alcohol poisoning. The information was transferred to REMSA and then to Indian Valley and Crescent Mills fire, and PDH.
Possible heart attack
In Quincy, a caller requested medical help for a man with a possible heart attack. The call was transferred to REMSA. PDH responded to the call at the mill.
Alarm reported
In Chester, a caller reported an alarm activation from a panic alarm at a residence. A deputy responded and spoke to a woman who was fine. She called dispatch and said her alarm was going off again. She though that someone was in her house about 30 minutes earlier. A deputy contacted her. She was told that deputies were at her house at that time.
Suspicious property purchased
In Greenville, a caller said she bought an iPad from a man and she thinks it’s stolen. It had the name of a school district with a serial number on the back. A deputy contacted the Three Rivers School District and someone there said the iPad has been missing for six years. They didn’t need it returned.
Concerned about man in a cabin
At Bucks Lake, a caller said that her adult son lived in a cabin at Bucks Lake. She was concerned for his welfare because she hadn’t heard from him in a month. Dispatch was unable to get a valid address on the cabin. A deputy contacted the reporting party. She told the deputy where to find the cabin. The deputy contacted another man at Bucks Lake who was going to try to contact the son with a search and rescue snow cat. The cabin was impossible to reach without a snow cat or snowmobile because of the snow. A sergeant spoke to the man who was going to contact the woman’s son. He was fine, but was snowed in. Someone was going to help him clear a path the following day.
Citation issued
In Portola, a deputy cited a man for an unspecified traffic violation.
Fire reported
Near Chester, second hand information was received that there was a fire behind the Chester Transfer Station. The information was transferred to SIFC.
Throwing red paint
In Quincy, a caller reported that four juveniles were throwing something red, possibly paint, on the wall of a business. They were also breaking handicap signs. The caller said they were also running down the sidewalk at the shopping center. A sergeant said they were throwing slime on the wall. The juveniles agreed to clean up the mess they’d made. They were released to their parents.
