In the spirit of the Outdoor Mountain Kid lifestyle, Whitney Maez's fourth-grade class from Quincy Elementary School visits Mount Lassen National Park on Jan. 30 for a ranger-led snowshoe tour. Photos submitted
Kids strap on snowshoes, many of them for the first time, and learn about tree species, animal species and snowpack at Lassen National Park. Afterward, they enjoyed lunch at the visitor center and spent some free time in the snow. The Mt. Lassen field trip program is free for all interested schools.
