Is there an education dream you’ve been cherishing, or some kind of training you’d love to complete, either of which would help you support your family?

Maybe you could use help with childcare expenses while you’re in class, or tuition or funds for books?

If you are a woman living anywhere in Plumas County and you’re the main wage earner for your family, Soroptimist International of Quincy (SIQ) members encourage you to apply now for their annual $1,000 “Live Your Dream” scholarship.

Childcare, transportation, etc.

One local scholarship will be awarded in early 2020 and the recipient can use the “Live Your Dream” award to offset costs associated with their efforts to attain higher education or additional skills and training.

Soroptimist International sponsors the grant program nationwide to help local women, through local SI clubs, and the funds are applicable toward tuition, books, childcare, transportation or any other education-related expense.

Chance for more scholarships

Plumas County’s Soroptimist International of Quincy club will present the $1,000 “Live Your Dream” cash grant in early 2020 to one local woman who will also advance to the next SI level for the Sierra Nevada Region.

At the regional competition, recipients could receive up to $5,000 in additional scholarship funds. The program culminates with three finalist awards of $10,000 at the national level.

Each year, Soroptimist International’s “Live Your Dream” award provides more than $1.6 million in cash grants to head-of-household women in need.
