Carol’s Café in Prattville is hosting the upcoming Taste of the Mediterranean Dinner and silent auction, Saturday, Aug. 24, with two seatings, one at 5 p.m. and the second seating at 7 p.m.
This fifth annual fundraising dinner benefits the Almanor Basin Food Pantry in Chester, and features a Mediterranean-style five-course dinner on the lake. Reservations are required.
To buy your dinner tickets for the Food Pantry fundraising dinner at Carol’s Café by credit card, check or cash phone 259-2464.
For a donation of just $60 per couple or $35 per individual, each guest will receive his or her ticket that includes the dinner, live music by Marsha Roby, and an opportunity to participate in the silent auction and drawing. The silent auction begins at 5 p.m. and continues until 9 p.m.
Hosted by Carol Franchetti and her staff, everything is being donated — the food, preparation and service.
The Mediterranean-flavored menu includes antipasto with cheese, meat, olives and fruit, Tuscan bean soup in Italian rustic bread bowl, Caesar salad with house-made dressing, choice of braised lamb shanks on a bed of polenta or salmon and wraps up with raspberry crème tiramisu.
The Food Pantry’s board of directors expects this dinner and silent auction to be a fun and unique culinary experience for all, and look forward to seeing the community at large participating in the fundraiser.
Monetary donations for the Almanor Basin Food Pantry are always welcome and checks can be made out to: ABFP, P.O. Box 1445, Chester, CA 96020.
The pantry, located at 386A Main St., in Chester (formerly Mt. Methodist Church Child Care Center) is open on the first and third Saturday of the month, from 10 a.m. until noon.
