Thunder and lightning hit Plumas

Heard some thunder? Seen some lightning. Yes, it’s happening. The thunder and lightning predicted for some areas of the Sierra this afternoon is here as indicated by the lightning map below. The wind is also howling, the June 25 afternoon.

According to an alert from the National Weather Service, a strong thunderstorm will impact Central Plumas near Quincy, Greenville and portions of the canyon until 4:30 p.m. today. Half inch of hail possible as well as localized flooding. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is being experienced. The storm is moving north toward Almanor.
