New fires found; thunderstorms predicted again today
10:50 a.m.: The Forest Service confirmed two new small fires: Humbug, south of Lake Davis, and Rattlesnake south/southeast of Canyon Dam.
Plumas County residents witnessed a show from Mother Nature last night as thunderstorms rolled through with hundreds of lightning strikes, wind and, in some areas downpours. Other areas saw the wind and lightning, but no rain. More of the same is predicted for today. The Forest Service will be searching for fire starts throughout the day.
